Born
in Vicenza October 29-1941, he studied accounting at the Vicenza
“Istituto Tecnico Commerciale” (I.T.C.); he worked for
several years as a manager in public service. He is fond of static
aeronautical modeling and aviation history, mainly related to W.W.II,
with a specific interest in the Vicenza area wartime events.
He is secretary of the Vicenza “Frecce Tricolori" club
and also adviser to
The National Historic Aircraft Association (G.A.V.S.) whose Vicenza
section is under his care. He spends a great part of his time as
a volunteer and curator at an aviation-history museum located in
the Vicenza military airport. The exhibition is mainly dedicated
to the flight history in the Vicenza territory. It is here that
he collects and stores various museum pieces, including some aircraft
formerly operated by the Italian Air Force.
In retirement, he devotes all his free time to his passion, doing
historic research that eventually led to the publishing of books,
newspaper, and magazine articles. Though he profoundly loves aviation
and aircraft in general, he nevertheless is proud to have served
the Italian Army as an "Alpino" in the 7th. Regiment of
the Alpina "Cadore" Brigade (now withdrawn), as most of
Vicentian boys do. He is also the very proud grandfather of 5 marvelous
grandchildren, whom he adores, and he hopes that at least one of
them will take over his favorite hobby, aviation, in the future.
They already show their interest by making drawings and airplane
models... all for granddad!
